Church Planting

Partnering to Plant 50 Churches by 2050

Why Church Planting?

When Jesus gave the Great Commission, the book of Acts reveals that what the Disciples understood as completing that command was to plant churches. The Bible teaches that we also should take the gospel of Jesus Christ to the ends of the Earth. Today when we hear that, we often think: short trips to see a different country. "Mission Trips" are great and serve a purpose, but at Connection, when we think about taking the Gospel where it isn't, we think about Church Planting.

Also, every community needs a fresh expression of the gospel. Churches are dying faster than more are being planted. The amount of churches we currently have couldn’t serve the needs of all people if even HALF of our cities and towns wanted to attend. Also, church plants, statistically, reach lost people. Established churches tend not to. So, one of the most strategic things we can do to reach the lost is plant more churches. Lastly, and most importantly, we need a new generation of churches with “Great Commission DNA.” The truth is, every church doesn’t have its eyes on the Nations. We believe our kids and grandkids need a new generation of churches that see what God sees and is looking where God is looking.

We are currently at
10 Planted Churches

To date, the Connection Network has seen 10 churches planted throughout Georgia as well as 12 international missionaries sent to unreached people groups around the globe.

The Connection Network is our family of autonomous churches partnering together to plant 50 churches by 2050. The network exists to train leaders to plant, grow, & multiply gospel-centered churches. We do this through a process we call our church planting residency. This is where we bring in a potential church planter, train and develop them as a leader, teach them everything we know about planting a church, and send them out with funding and a church planting team to help them launch the new church plant.

*5% of our budget every year goes to support the Connection Network.

International Missionaries

In addition to sending church planters, we are committed to raising up and sending international missionaries to unreached people groups—communities where there is little to no local Christian presence and not enough believers to share the gospel without outside help. Our hope and prayer is that as missionaries share the gospel, local believers will come to faith and be raised up to plant churches among their own people.

Currently, Connection Church Statesboro has two couples serving long-term among unreached people groups. Our church provides 50% of the required support for every missionary we send. When you give, part of your generosity helps bring the gospel to people who have never heard it before!

Global Missions Strategy

Our global missions strategy is to plant churches among unreached people groups. God deserves the glory of the whole world, and not just from those who have already heard the gospel. God has good works prepared, and our role is just to step into them in obedience…even  (or, especially) if that means those good works are on the other side of the world! We can’t complete the Great Commission on our own, but we can do our part! Lastly, global missions brings into reality WHY the church exists in the first place. God set out to reach His people. Those He reached began to tell others…and then others…and then others. It went from Jerusalem, to Judea, to Samaria, and is making its way to the ends of the Earth. The church exists to fulfill God’s mission.

Global Missions Convictions

The Bible teaches us that God's great passion is to be known and worshipped among all nations.

Every believer has a role in completing the task of the Great Commission.

The local church is responsible for developing, sending out, and caring for those that God calls from among the Body.

God's Word, Prayer, and the Holy Spirit are critical for all Great Commission activity.

Short-term missions should be done wisely with discipleship and church planting in view.

Global Missions should prioritize the unreached and unengaged.

Our long-term goal shapes our strategy: Church Planting = Healthy Evangelism → Disciple to Maturity → Formation of a Church → Local Leadership → Multiplication.

Missionaries are required to learn language fluency.
